There may be a slight delay in processing orders due to a high volume of orders.
Please note that the items "Maori" carded wool and Fluffy yarn are being replenished but the high demand for it is making production times longer than usual.
We´re doing our best to keep the wait to a minimum.

Doll clothes tutorial in 5 steps: Pollaz friends in the workshop

There are only a couple of things youíll absolutely need for this project: a doll to dress, and 2mm thermoformable felt. Letís start with the doll. Use your imagination to create this doll! It doesnít have to be a person, it could also be a little animal. If you prefer, you can also use a doll that you have around the house. Maybe you can borrow one of your daughterís doll :) And now letís move on to the clothes, the best†part!

Josť the Bear clothes tutorial

This little bear is wearing a flannel shirt, thermoformable felt overalls in Prince color, a Yolk color scarf, and Dark shoes. Take the measurements for your doll (a bear in this case) and draw the overalls on a piece of paper. The overalls need to have a longer part in the front, and a shorter one in the back, a pocket on the chest, 2 side pockets, 2 straps, and 2 little buttons.

  • by hand, or with a sewing machine, saw the 3 pockets in the front.

Now we have to sew the overalls together, and we will sew it directly on the doll.

  • place the front and the back parts on the bear, and sew the edge in blanket stitch.

Now, we need to sew on the 2 braces.

  • Take the measurements with a measuring tape and cut out 2 stripes of Prince colored felt. All you need to do is attach them to the front part with a button, and to the back with a stitch..

Donít forget to cross them on the back.

The shoes are very simple:

  • cut out 4 pieces of black felt (2 per foot) and sew them onto the bear in blanket stitch. Use some embroidery yarn to make the shoelaces and tie it in a bow.

All that is left now is the scarf!

  • take a long felt rectangle in Yolk color and cut fringes into the two shorter ends.

The fun thing about thermoformable felt is that the felt is going to keep the shape youíll give it while cooking. This is perfect to give a movement effect to our scarf, as if it fluttered in the wind.

Use a piece of thin cardboard and some pins to cut out a scarf. Put it onto a pan and then into the oven at 130įC for 15 minutes (remember, use an electric oven, if you prefer to use the microwave, do not use the pins!).

After cooking it for 15 minutes, let the felt cool off (a few seconds should be enough) and take out the pins. JosŤ is now ready to face any storm, whether it be a rainstorm or emotional turmoil!

Susy Bear Clothes Tutorial

Our bear doll is wearing a wool skirt, a thermoformable felt sweater in the Tuareg color, felt boot in the Cinnamon color, and felt gloves in the Prince color. To make the skirt, just sew a tube using some woolen fabric. To make the sweater, follow these steps.

  • take the measurement for the doll you want to dress.

  • draw a sweater on a piece of paper, following the measurements you have taken.
  • transfer the paper pattern onto the thermoformable felt and draw an outline with some chalk.
  • cut the felt using the design you have transferred onto the fabric, and sew some little frets on the edges, both in the front and in the back.

Now, sew the two parts on the bear, like we did with Josťís overalls and the little shoes in blanket stitch. Susyís paws are cold, so we need to make her gloves, using the same technique:

  • 2 pieces of felt following the shape of the paw in blanket stitch.

To make it cuter, embroider some polka dots on the back using French stitch.

For the boots, I used some thermoformable felt in Cinnamon color and some pink embroidery yarn, matching the gloves.

Susy is all dressed up and ready for another day of office work, phone calls and daydreaming!

Camilla Scintilla Clothes Tutorial

The doll is wearing a thermoformable felt dress in Antille green color, a wonderful coat in Powder  color, and boots in Morocco color. Letís start from the green dress. Itís a very easy one. All you need to do is cut out two identical pieces of thermoformable felt, and sew them together in blanket stitch, leaving the arms out. The dress is sleeveless so sew it up on the shoulder.

Now move on to the pink coat. Use the measuring tape to take the measurements of the doll.

  • draw the pattern for the coat on a piece of paper. You are going to need 1 piece for the back and 2 for the front.
  • to create a create a seamless effect, shape the lapel by cooking the felt.

  • fold the felt, and pin it. Place it on a pan and put it in the oven at 130įC for 15 minutes (remember, use an electric oven, if you prefer to use the microwave, do not use the pins!).
  • after cooking it for 15 minutes, let the felt cool down and get the pins out. To make it cuter, sew two pockets on, of course in the front, and a pair of tiny buttons.
  • use a blanket stitch to sew the coat directly on the doll.

I decided to add a polka dotted cotton scarf, and some light pink socks.

This time, the shoes have no laces, but have been sewn together up to the top, leaving the last part unsewn.

Ta-da! This is the whole team! Arenít they super cute?
