METHOD

The bag is worked in the round but without joining each round with a slip stitch. Place a stitch marker in the first stitch of each round and move it up at the beginning of each new round to keep track of your progress. The handle is worked continuously in back-and-forth rows after completing the bag.

Using crochet hook n° 10 EU / N/P-15 US, loosely chain 15 stitches.

Round 1: chain 1, work 1 single crochet into the next 13 chains, 3 single crochets in the last chain; turn the work to continue on the opposite side of the foundation chain, work 1 single crochet into the next 13 chains, and 2 single crochets in the last chain. (32 stitches)
rounds 2-8: work 1 single crochet in each stitch around
round 9: decrease 1 stitch by working 2 single crochets together over the first 2 stitches, work 1 single crochet in the next 11 stitches, decrease 1 stitch over the next 2 stitches, work 1 single crochet in the next stitch, decrease 1 stitch over the next 2 stitches, work 1 single crochet in the next 11 stitches, decrease 1 stitch over the next 2 stitches, work 1 single crochet in the last stitch. (28 stitches)
round 10: decrease 1 stitch over the first 2 stitches, work 1 single crochet in the next 9 stitches, decrease 1 stitch over the next 2 stitches, work 1 single crochet in the next stitch, decrease 1 stitch over the next 2 stitches, work 1 single crochet in the next 9 stitches, decrease 1 stitch over the next 2 stitches, work 1 single crochet in the last stitch. (24 stitches)
round 11: work 1 single crochet in each stitch around.

How to crochet the bag handle

Now begin working the handle in back-and-forth rows:
row 1: work 1 single crochet in the next stitch (the first stitch of the previous round), turn
row 2: chain 1, work 1 single crochet in the next 2 stitches, turn
rows 3-18: repeat Row 2. Then, using slip stitches, join the 3 stitches of the handle to the 3 central stitches on the opposite side of the bag. Cut and secure the yarn.
