Please note that the items "Maori" carded wool and Fluffy yarn are being replenished but the high demand for it is making production times longer than usual.
We´re doing our best to keep the wait to a minimum.
Thanks for your patience!
Hi crochet friends! We’re here with a new stitch to learn together – the Lace stitch! It creates openwork stitches giving creations a lace effect and therefore also lightweight. So, the Lace stitch is perfect for making a summer blanket or a shawl and maybe even a bedspread or a hammock!
We’ve teamed the Lace stitch up with one of our summery yarns, Cleopatra. Half cotton, half linen with a colour collection to die for. The cape has been made with the colour Orchid, but you can choose whatever colour takes your fancy.
It’s done on a number of foundation chains in multiples of 6 + 9.
1st round: (done on the back of the work): chain 1 (it doesn’t replace the initial the single crochet), skip 1 chain from the hook, single crochet 1 into the following 3 chains, *chain 3, skip 3 chains, single crochet 1 into the following 3 chains, *always repeat from * to *.
2nd round: chain 1 (it doesn’t replace the initial single crochet) single crochet 1 into the 1st single crochet underneath, chain 2, + in the small arch of 3 chains work: 1 single crochet with loop, i.e. work the single crochet and stretch the loop on the hook by about 0,7cm, single crochet 5 not closed with loop, that is for every single crochet don’t carry out the last closure and stretch the loop on the hook by about 0,7cm, then single crochet 1 not closed, but don’t stretch the loop; slide the hook out leaving the loops hanging, insert the hook only into the last loop not stretched + and * chain 3, skip the following 3 steps, work from + to +, finish off with 3 chains, skip 2 single crochets, 1 double crochet on the initial single crochet of the previous row.
3rd round: chain 1 (don’t replace the initial single crochet), single crochet 1 into the double crochet below, skip the arch of 3 chains, * single crochet 1 in each of the following 3 loops, gently pull on the loops, chain 3, * single crochet 1 in each of the 3 following loops gently pull on the loops, skip the following arch pull on the loops gently, skip the following arch *, finish off with 1 double crochet on the initial single crochet of the previous round.
4th round: repeat from the 2nd round.
Referring to the right side of the work, start with the part that comes before the 1st asterisk, repeat from * to * for all the round and complete with the part that follows the 2nd asterisk.
