We are back together with a new knitting stitch for you to learn! we are talking about the double cross stitch. We are fond of it because it reminds us of a track for toy cars, such fun with those 8 velocious vehicles that gave you thrill of speed without risking your own life!
This knitting stitch creates 8 soft and beautiful plump stitches. Perfect for making a blanket or pillow. The yarn selected for this stitch is Piuma in the colour September.

MATERIALS

METHOD
We work of a number of base stitches in multiples of 12+2.
Row 1 and 5: * knit 2, purl 10 *, always repeat from * to * and finish with knit 2
row 2 and all other even rows: work the stitches as they appear, right sides together and wrong sides together
row 3: knit all
row 7, 9, 11 and 13: * knit 2 and purl 2 *, always repeat from * to * and finish with knit 2
row 15: * knit 2, purl 2, 3 cross stitches onthe left, 3 cross stitches on the right, purl 2 *, always repeat from * to * and finish with 2 knit stitches.
To execute 3 cross stitches on the left: keep 2 open stitches in front, purl 1, knit the 2 open stitches.
To execute 3 cross stitches on the right: keep 1 open stitch at the back, knit 2, purl the open stitch.
Row 17: * knit 2, purl 3, cross stitch 4 on the right, purl 3 *, always repeat from * to * and finish with knit 2.
To execute 4 cross stitches on the right: keep 2 open stitches behind, knit 2, knit the 2 open stitches.
Row 19: * knit 2, purl 2, 3 cross stitches on the right, 3 cross stitches on the left, purl 2 *, repeat from * to * and finish with 2 knit stitches
row 21, 23 and 25: work as stated for row 7
row 27: Repeat from row 1.

Repeat from * to * for the entire row and finish with the stitches that follow the second *. In the even rows, not represented in the diagram, work all stitches as they appear, right sides together and wrong sides together
