Row 1: We knit on the wrong side of the project, knit 4, purl 6, knit 4.
row 2: purl 4, knit 6, purl 4
row 3 and in the following uneven rows: purl 2, 4 cross stitches on the right, knit 2, 4 cross stitches on the left, purl 2.
To execute 4 cross stitches on the left: keep 2 open stitches in front, purl 2, knit the 2 open stitches.
To execute 4 cross stitches on the right: keep 2 open stitches behind, knit 2, knit the 2 open stitches.
Row 6: 4 cross stitches on the right, purl 2, knit 2, purl 2, 4 cross stitches on the left
row 8: *knit 2 and purl 4*, repeat from * to * once more, knit 2
row 10: 4 cross stitches on the left, purl 2, knit 2, purl 2, 4 cross stitches on the right
