How to knit the Openwork Triangle stitch

We’re back with another knit stitch. It's knitted and with our Piuma yarn in the colour Jeans. The Triangle stitch is quite easy and gives the final piece, whether it be a blanket or a sweater, a super chunky look.

It's done on a number of stitches in multiples of 12 + 1.

Row 1 and 25: purl 1, *knit 11 and purl 1*, always repeat from * to *

row 2 and 26: *knit 1 and purl 11*, knit 1 to finish off

row 3: knit 1, *purl 11 and knit 1*

row 4: *purl 1 and knit 11*, purl 1 to finish off

row 5: knit 1, *knit 1, purl 2, (yarn over 1 and purl 2 together) repeat the part in the brackets 3 times, purl 1 and knit 2*

row 6: *purl 2, knit 9 and purl 1*, purl 1 to finish off

row 7: knit 1, *knit 2, purl 2, (1 yarn over and purl 2 together) repeat the part in brackets twice, purl 1 and knit 3

row 8: *purl 3, knit 7 and purl 2*, purl 1 to finish off

row 9: knit 1, *knit 3, purl 2, yarn over 1, purl 2 together, purl 1 and knit 4*

row 10: *purl 4, knit 5 and purl 3*, purl 1 to finish off

row 11: knit 1, *knit 4, purl 3 and knit 5*

row 12: *purl 5, knit 3 and purl 4*, purl 1 to finish off 

row 13: knit 1, *knit 5, purl 1 and knit 6*

row 14: *purl 6, knit 1 and purl 5*, purl 1 to finish off

row 15: purl 1, *purl 5, knit 1 and purl 6*

row 16: *knit 6, purl 1 and knit 5*, knit 1 to finish off

row 17: yarn over 1, *purl 2 together, yarn over 1, purl 2 together, purl 1, knit 3, purl 2, yarn over 1, purl 2 together, yarn over 1*, purl 2 together, yarn over 1, purl 2 together, purl 1, knit 3, purl 2, yarn over 1, purl 2 together and purl 1

row 18: *knit 5, purl 3 and knit 4*, knit 1 to finish off

row 19: purl 1, *yarn over 1, purl 2 together, purl 1, knit 5, purl 2, yarn over 1 and purl 2 together*

row 20: *knit 4, purl 5 and knit 3*, knit 1 to finish off

row 21: yarn over 1, *purl 2 together, purl 1, knit 7, purl 2, yarn over 1*, purl 2 together, purl 1, knit 7 and purl 3

row 22: *knit 3, purl 7 and knit 2*, knit 1 to finish off

row 23: purl 1, *purl 1, knit 9 and purl 2*

row 24: *knit 2, purl 9 and knit 1*, knit 1 to finish off

row 25: purl 1, *purl 1, knit 9 and purl 2*

row 27: repeat from row 3.


Start with the part that comes before the first asterisk and repeat from * to * for all the row, finish off with the stitches that come after the second asterisk.
