We began 2022 with Amref Health Africa and, with great pleasure, we finish the same year with this extraordinary organization that offers help to African populations.
Let us take a small step back to tell you how it all began.
For a long time, DHG had wanted to become an active partner in a project that could be truly incisive, that would profoundly touch people's lives. With Amref Health Africa this dream has become possible. In fact, since last January we have been among the supporters of the Erripo Project | Protect Girls fight against female genital mutilation in Kenya. And it does so on multiple fronts. By taking action against FGM, by building wells in villages, by enabling girls to take charge of their own lives through education, by asking politicians to strengthen the laws on FGM, and by involving the male community in this process of change.

Today, one year after we began this beautiful journey, progress has been constant and significant. Below are the most notable.
Conducted, with specialised staff, 30 dialogue sessions in Kajiado county involving cultural, religious, and village leaders, girls who have suffered FGM, and teachers and students to talk about issues that affect the whole community. Educate on the fight against FGM through sport, in particular with a football tournament reaching out to more than 1000 people. Worked in collaboration with Ministries to bring together students and health clubs (safe spaces where girls and boys can talk freely about their problems) giving training on both health and hygiene. Renovated old wells and built 12 rainwater systems. Trained 95 community health workers.
Amref Health Africa conducts this project with such dedication, competence and transparency that we can only continue to support it. The results are tangible and extraordinary. Results that make the difference in the lives of many people.
