Description
Hygge in Danish refers to "a cozy atmosphere and the ability to enjoy the beauty of life with loved ones." This feeling of warmth and contentment is exactly what we had in mind when we created this yarn. Hygge is a blend of Tencel (the most sustainable fiber in the world) and Alpaca (which we adore). It's soft, warm, and perfect for year-round coziness, with pieces that work well in winter and in summer (perhaps for a cooler evening). The light bouclé effect gives it the appearance of astrakhan fur, making it a great choice for those who love the aesthetic of fur but would never buy one out of love for animals.
Techniques
Due to its natural structure, Hygge may appear irregular, but the overall effect of the fabric is smooth and compact. It works well with mid-sized needles and hooks, around size 4. You can also easily use it for weaving and macramé projects.
Tips
With knitting needles: stockinette stitch is ideal, as it allows the stitches to stand out despite the yarn's uneven texture.
With crochet hook: while single crochet stitches are a good option, more advanced stitches may require greater skill and experience to handle the yarn’s unique texture.
On the loom: we wove this yarn on a rigid heddle loom with a 30:10 reed (3 ends/cm). Weaves easily and is suitable for beginners. The very soft hand is ideal for garments and accessories.
