Description
Lagom in Swedish means balanced life and is a way of thinking about life based on respect for oneself and the world, the love of nature, and attention to sustainability.
Therefore, we couldn’t think of naming this yarn differently, as it is born from the same principles and is made with recycled wool from rags.
Rags that, instead of ending up in landfills, are recycled into a precious material with which to create new beauty and high quality. Isn't this a fantastic way to be sustainable?
Lagom is a yarn made to stand the test of time, available in many colours, and is very easy to knit and crochet with, it’s also perfect for hand weaving.
It's unisex, and if you love handmade socks, Lagom will allow you to create the most wonderful sock imaginable.
A must-have for all the yarn enthusiasts out there.
Techniques
Lagom works best with medium-sized knitting needles and crochet hooks, and is also perfect for weaving and embroidery. When knit or woven, it creates a tweed-like effect.
Tips
With knitting needles: suitable for stockinette stitch as well as other techniques, though simpler stitches are recommended, as complex patterns might not stand out on this multicolor surface.
With a crochet hook: single crochet creates a compact result, but thanks to the smoothness of the yarn, other stitches can be worked easily as well.
On the loom: we wove this yarn on a rigid heddle loom with a 40:10 reed (4 ends/cm). Weaves easily, even at higher densities. Suitable for both warp and weft. Perfect for fashion garments and accessories as well as home décor projects.
