Description
Ghost is a technical yarn made from a ribbon around which a very thin gauze is constructed, so homogeneous that it is imperceptible. The result of this combination is a smooth, flat, bright, silky, and crunchy ribbon that slides between the fingers and is very pleasant to work with because it flows. The impression is similar to raffia because the final result is rigid and consistent but with one main difference: GHOST is faster to work with than raffia which maintains its rigidity.
Techniques
It is worked with quite thin needles and crochet hooks. Also perfect for weaving and macramé.
The surfaces obtained are compact, rigid, with a consistent thickness and non-malleable. It is therefore not suitable for clothing projects but is highly recommended for the creation of 4-season accessories, jewellery and Interior Design projects. You will get great results.
Tips
When knitting, the stockinette stitch rolls up on itself therefore the edges must be defined in garter. It is better to choose the total garter, in any case, or a process that keeps the work rigid and flat such as rice stitch and other variations of combinations between knit and purl (checkerboard, for example). When crossing, you must consider the slipperiness of the stitches and take care that they do not fall off the needle.
With the crochet, in addition to the single crochet, you can also work higher crochets, openwork and reliefs.
On the loom: we wove this yarn on a rigid heddle loom with a 40:10 reed (4 ends/cm). A very slippery yarn, best used in combination with others. Not suitable for beginners. Best used for fashion accessories.
