Description
Stromboli is a soft, ductile, and versatile 24-gauge cotton tape yarn. It's perfect for creating clothing, accessories, and home décor items.
Techniques
Stromboli works well with large knitting needles and crochet hooks. It can also be used for weaving and macramé projects.
Tips
With knitting needles: it’s perfect for stockinette stitch and other smooth patterns, even slightly openwork or subtly textured stitches.
With crochet hooks: you can work with all types of stitches, from single crochet to double treble crochet. However, we recommend alternating single crochet with chains for an ideal result.
On the loom: we used a rigid heddle loom with a 10:10 reed (1 end/cm). This yarn has all the typical features of tape yarns: it’s elastic, so using it in the warp is very tricky and recommended only for experienced weavers. For the weft, it’s best to unroll the yarn gradually as you work. We used a needle shuttle for weaving. Perfect for decorative and fashion accessories, but again, not suitable for fringe finishes, as it tends to fray.
