Our silk chiffon fabrics are at the center of Back to Ithaca, our new Mood.
Penelope’s journey continues, but after the colors and the adrenaline of Penelope Pop, the hues become softer. Pastel colors replace the bright, vibrant tones. While felt and leather make room for superlight silk chiffon.
We know it is only January, and that the summer is still far away. But we felt like dreaming about a getaway to a warm destination. Sun, sea, and sand. So, since it costs nothing to dream, we let our imaginations run wild. We even envisioned an entire special clothing collection. A mini Cruise Collection created by our beloved VeryCris. The materials chosen for this project are our 3.5 and 6 silk chiffon fabrics. Fabrics we love more and more, and for which we have developed new sophisticated shades over the past few months. These fabrics are ideal for a quick getaway. They are so light that they will fit even in the smallest of carry-on suitcases.
As always, VeryCris created some very beautiful and feminine pieces for us. Without forgetting to keep the projects nice and simple to make. And while these may be quick-and-easy ideas, that does not mean they don’t have a lot of character. After all, you do not judge someone’s creativity based on the level of difficulty of a project, right? So, if you have little time or you don’t know how to hem silk chiffon fabric (which is rather difficult, by the way) you can take advantage of our pre-hemmed silk chiffon fabrics. You can make stoles and scarves that to find fun uses for, for example wearing them as gorgeous headgear.
Not only that. VeryCris has also added silk chiffon ribbons to the collection that, starting today, you can find in our online shop. In many different colors and three different widths: 1 cm, 2.5 cm and 10 cm. Something to suit every taste and for many different uses. From decorating a piece of clothing to creating jewelry and accessories.
Speaking of jewelry, the tutorial created by Very Cris for this new DHG Mood is actually about a necklace, Ithaca, created with silk chiffon ribbons. You can find the tutorial here.
Well, by now you must have understood that here at DHG we will use any excuse to dream and to set sail - if not to exotic destinations, at least to new projects. Are you on board?
