METHOD

The clutch is worked flat and consists of a single rectangular piece, which forms both the front and back panels and the flap, then sewn together at the sides to close it.

With crochet hook n° 4 EU / G-6 US, start by chaining 32 and work single crochet for 60 rows. Cut the yarn and fasten off.

How to assemble the crochet clutch

With the wrong side facing up, fold the final 15 cm / 6" inward and join the sides by working 1 row of single crochet with crochet hook n° 4 EU / G-6 US as follows: repeat (insert the hook first into the end of the row on one side, then into the end of the corresponding row on the other side, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over again and close the 2 loops) until the entire side is closed; repeat for the other side. For the fringes, cut several strands of yarn, each 30 cm / 12" long, and tie one strand for each stitch of the last row of the flap as follows: insert the crochet hook n° 4 EU / G-6 US into the stitch where you want to attach the fringe, take the folded yarn and pull it through to form a loop, then pass the fringe strands inside the loop. Trim the fringes evenly.
