How to crochet a sunflower

The sunflower is truly magical flower. It's curious, because thinking of a flower that follows the light and warmth of the sun with its corolla makes it seem almost enchanted.

The sunflower has also become famous thanks to the pictorial series of Vincent Van Gogh, who studied its characteristics and transformed it into moral teachings: human beings, like flowers, are born to reach their maximum splendor and finally waste away. It is precisely for this reason, every moment is important and should be lived with vigor.

And now let's pick up the crochet hook and start crocheting our sunflower. With outSailorman yarn the result is guaranteed.

METHOD

We begin by making the center of the sunflower: cast on 1 chain of 14 stitches.

Row 1skip 2 chains starting from the hook, 2 double crochet in each of the following 3 chains, 3 double crochet in the following chain, 3 double crochets in each of the following 8 chains, chain 3, 1 single crochet at the base of the last 3 double crochet . Break the thread and roll the strip obtained in a spiral, the end with the high points inside and fix the coils to the base with hidden stitches.

Let's now move on to making the corolla: start a 5-stitch chain, close it in the round with 1 half stitch in the first of the same and work in the circle obtained:
row 11 chain and 7 single crochets. Close row 1 and all following rows with 1 half knit at the starting point
row 2work 3 chains, 1 double crochet in next stitch, 1 petal (work 8 chain stitches, skip 1 chain stitch from hook, 1 double crochet in next chain, 1 double crochet in next chain, 1 double crochet in each of the following 4 chains, 1 half double crochet in the following chain, 1 single crochet on the closing point of the stitch at the base of the petal)* 1 open double crochet on the same single crochet at the base of the previous double crochet, 1 open double crochet on the next stitch and then close them together, 1 petal*, repeat from * to * 6 more times
row 3work 1 half stitch in the chain at the base of the half double crochet of the petal, 1 chain, +1 single crochet at the base of the following stitches, 2 single crochet in the arch at the top, 1 single crochet on each of the following 8 stitches+, *1 single crochet at the base of the first half double crochet of the following petal, then work from + to +*, 7 times.

Apply the base of the center on the initial circle of the corolla.

For the center, work following pattern A; for the corolla from row 2, work the part from A to the first * of the pattern B, repeat from * to * 6 times and finish with the part that precedes A.
