Row 1: knit 1, repeat (purl 1, knit 1) to the end of the row
row 2: purl 1, repeat (knit 1, purl 1) to the end of the row.
Rows 1 and 2 set 1x1 rib, repeat them 2 more times: you will have worked row 6, measuring 3 cm / 1.2". Work in horizontal eyelet stitch for 8 rows, up to row 14.
Row 15: knit 10, yarn over, work a single left‑leaning decrease (ssk) over the next 2 stitches, repeat (knit 9, yarn over, work a single left‑leaning decrease (ssk) over the next 2 stitches) 4 times, knit 9

row 58: purl the stitches of the second side. Now continue only on this second side, leaving the stitches of the first side on a stitch holder
row 59: decrease 1 stitch for the neck by working a single left‑leaning decrease (ssk) over the first 2 stitches, continue in stockinette stitch with vertical eyelets to the end of the row
row 60: purl
rows 61 to 72: repeat rows 59 and 60 six more times. Bind off.
Return to the stitches of the first side and work them as for the second side, reversing all shaping.
Sew the shoulders and the top of the sleeves. For the neckband, starting and ending at the centre back of the neck, with needles n° 5 EU / 8 US pick up and knit an even number of stitches all around the neckline and work 8 rows in 1x1 rib. Bind off, then sew the neckband. Sew sleeve seams and side seams.
