Today we’re going to learn how to knit the Basketweave stitch. A knit stitch that gives us the chance to get a strong solid outer surface. Perfect for an oversized blanket, to give just one example. The chosen yarn for the Basketweave stitch is Vintage, with a great amount of alpaca and cotton internally. What’s more, it has the added stonewash effect that really makes it one of a kind. We’ve chosen the colour Horizon but on the shop you can find 6 other gorgeous colours.
Let’s get started.

MATERIALS
Vintage yarn col. Horizon 100 g / 3.5 oz
Knitting needle n° 8 EU / 11 US
DIFFICULTY LEVEL
Easy
METHOD
It’s done on a number of foundation stitches in multiples of 4+2.
Row 1: *knit 2, purl 2*, always repeat from * to * and knit 2 to finish off
row 2: slip knit 2, *knit 2 and slip knit 2*.
To do the slip knit 1, slip the knit stitch on the right needle without working it, purl into back and leave the thread at the back.
Row 3: repeat from the first row.

Repeat from * to * for all the row and finish off with the stitches that follow the second *.
If you liked this stitch, then you might like the Rectangular Garter stitch too.
