How to knit a checkered jumper with a boat neckline

Here is the free pattern for a jumper made with pure cotton Stromboli tape in the colour Powder. Short-sleeved, crop and with an ever-stylish checkered pattern. We envisage it for street style clothing, like over a pair of baggy jeans and sneakers. Backpack over one shoulder and out the door!

If you want the jumper to have a looser fit, just add a pair of checkers (or whatever you like) to the width of the bust, and you're done!

On our store you will find many other colours of Stromboli. Choose your favourite.

METHOD

The garment is knitted in one piece and starts from the front.

With needles n° 15 EU / 19 US cast on 28 stitches (32, 36) plus 2 selvedge.

knit in chess stitch for 24 rows (28, 32).

On row 25 (32, 36), cast on 12 stitches at the beginning of the round for the sleeves.

On row 26 cast on 12 more stitches on the other side.

Continue for 18 rows (22, 26).

In row 18 (22, 38) you will have arrived at shoulder height and therefore you can hollow out the boat neckline.

Then close the 20 central stitches and immediately cast on another 20 stitches, to bind off and have a restart point for the neckline.

Continue knitting for another 18 rows (22, 24).

At this point close 12 stitches on each side (sleeves) and continue knitting the remaining 28 stitches plus 2.

Continue for 24 (32, 26) rows.

Close all stitches.
