MITTEN


  • Position the fabric face to face and cut following the model.

  • Cut a 12X14cm rectangle out of the ribbed knit fabric which will be used to create the cuff.

  • Sew the mitten. Sew the ends of the rectangle together and fold it in half. Then sew the obtained circle around the mitten, taking care to attach the ribbon which you will need to hang the ornament from the tree

  • Before turning the mitten right-side out, make some small cuts diagonally to the seams in each of the corners to make this process easier

  • Turn the work right-side out and insert some padding inside. Attach a small red bow to the center.

Gingerbread cookie

  • Cut two shapes out of the felt, which will be the front and back respectively. On one side, embroider a mouth, hands, feet and a little face with white wool thread

Tutorial Biscottino di Zenzero - Gingerbread Biscuits Tutorial


  • Line up the two shapes face to face and sew all around the edges, leaving an opening which will allow you to turn the work right-side out. Make sure to insert the ribbon on top which you will need to hang the ornament from the tree

  • Turn the obtained shape right-side out, and then sew or glue two little buttons where the eyes of the cookie would be. Lastly, attach a small red bow around its neck.

Heart

  • Cut 4 hearts out of red felt as well as 7mm wide by 20cm long strip.

  • Sew some white stitches around each heart (this step is optional: if you choose to follow it, polyester thread is recommended)

  • Place all 4 hearts one on top of the other and attach the ribbon from which the ornament will hang from the tree. Sew a center stitch to attach all of the different components.

  • Unfold the obtained sections and place in the oven, taking care to maintain your desired shape. Bake* at 150° C for 5 minutes in a ventilated oven

* IMPORTANT: when baking thermoformable felt it is recommended to bake a test piece with your own oven to verify that the temperature and baking times are the same, otherwise they need to be adjusted.
