Cleopatra yarn  col. Tuareg 370 g / 13 oz to be worked 3 ply
Knitting needle  n° 5 EU / 8 US
Knitting needle  n° 6 EU / 10 US
Crochet hook n° 4 EU / G-6 US
4 stitch markers
1 needle

GAUGE
20cm x 20cm: garter stitch 20 stitches x 42 rounds


KNIT-CROCHET STITCHES USED 
Rib stitch 1x1:
round 1, knit 1, purl 1
round 2, knit stitches as they appear
Garter stitch:
knit all rows
Shrimp stitch:
double crochet from left to right


SIZE
Worked with 3 ply Cleopatra col. Tuareg.
The stitch markers are to mark the beginning of the armhole, so you’ll need 2 for the front and 2 for the back.

METHOD

Making the front of the argyle weave vest

Cast on 69 stitches on the no.5 needles and work the rib stitch, * 1st round knit 1, purl 1, 2nd round work the stitches as they appear*, repeat from * to * 3 times. Proceed with the no.6 needles.
Continue with no.6 needles.

Follow the chart below:

The black dots on the diagram are the drops of the armhole which are the same for both the front and the back.


Making the back of the sleeveless top

Work as for the front but after the rib stitch, proceed with the garter stitch, following the instructions on the chart for the dropping of the armhole.

Finishing off
Sew up the shoulders and the sides.

Finish the back of the neck with the shrimp stitch using hook size 4 EU / G-6 US.
