If you are looking for a tutorial that will make your Halloween party special which is both easy and fun, then you are in the right place. Today we present you with the tutorial for a felt Halloween garland that is spooky, but not scary! Composed of 5 symbolic subjects from this particular holiday, it can be made by both adults and children alike. The protagonists of our garland are: a haunted house, a fluttering bat, a carved pumpkin, an elegant vampire, and a magic potion.
The designer of this Halloween garland is Sabina Gibson | @mountroyalmint, an incredible artist from Canada who has now become a friend of ours. She has previously worked with us creating a trio of colourful dinosaurs perfect to hold and cuddle.
Let's get going.
MATERIALS
Elegant vampire:
Felt 2 mm 30 x 30 cm / 11.8" x 11.8" col. Milk, Black, Red carpet.
Magic potion:
Felt 2 mm 30 x 30 cm / 11.8" x 11.8" col. Shell, Desert, Milk, Mint, Black.
Fluttering Bat:
Felt 2 mm 30 x 30 cm / 11.8" x 11.8" col. Desert, Black, Yolk.
Haunted house:
Felt 2 mm 30 x 30 cm / 11.8" x 11.8" col. Desert, Erica, Milk, Nero.
Carved pumpkin:
Felt 2 mm 30 x 30 cm / 11.8" x 11.8" col. Desert, Olive, Sunset, Yolk.
Piuma Yarn col. Honey 100 g / 3.5 oz
Pencil or chalk
Hot glue gun and sticks

Coloured pipe cleaners

Following this tutorial, we will create a felt Halloween garland with 5 Halloween-- themed figures. A haunted house, a bat, a magic potion, a vampire, and a pumpkin.
Firstly, download and print the PDF and then start gathering all the necessary materials, like this you will have everything needed for the project at hand.
At this point, take scissors and cut out the 5 Halloween-themed subjects that you have just printed. If you are wondering how to cut the shape of the felt accurately using the printed templates, then we suggest two useful techniques: you can draw the shape of the figures directly onto the felt, or by using the safety pins you can fix the template onto the felt. Now simply decide which Halloween-themed figure you want to start cutting first. Remember begin buy cutting the larger shapes first, such as the whole house and then after that cut out the smaller shapes such as the roof of the house, the windows and the door.
Repeat this process for each Halloween-themed figures, however, before moving on to a new figure, you must first glue together, or sew with a needle and thread the various shapes you have cut up until this point. To correctly glue or sew the various details, be sure to always refer to the printed images from the PDF file.
For the pumpkin there is an additional step: first you have to manipulate the pipe cleaner into a spiral shape and then fix it to the base of the stem with glue.
Now comes the fun part! Using the needle and thread to embroider the details. You can follow the design of the PDF, or if you like, express your creativity and create something unique. Do not under evaluate this step though, as it is the most important, the embroidery we effectuate actually manages to breathe life into our creations.
Now all that's left to do is to prepare the length of yarn necessary for the garland, as to attach all 5 individual figures together. You can arrange them around 5 cm from each other or even at the distance of your choosing. You can even decide to only make the Halloween characters you like the most. We have simply created this project, but now it's up to you to make the most frightening felt Halloween garland you can and to show it off at your Halloween party.
